Robert Koglek

Robert Koglek is a Senior Lecturer at MCI Management Center Innsbruck since 2021. He holds advanced qualifications including an MSc in Systemic Leadership and Organizational Development (University of Bedfordshire) and an MA in Social Work (Catholic University of Applied Sciences Munich). Prior to academia, he served in leadership roles within social services, including Head of Service at the London Borough of Hackney's Children and Families Service (2016–2021), leading over 80 staff and innovating projects like the 'Family Learning and Intervention Programme' and 'North London Teaching Partnership'.

His professional career spans over two decades in social work, focusing on systemic approaches, refugee care, and organizational change. Notable contributions include developing the 'Hackney Model' of social work, now taught in UK universities, and leading projects such as 'Head, Heart and Hands' addressing social pedagogy in foster care. He actively contributes to academic associations, serving as Secretary of the Social Pedagogy Professional Association (2016–2020).

Research interests emphasize systemic social work, diversity in professional training, and the intersection of social work with issues like homelessness, LGBTQ+ advocacy, and refugee welfare. He has supervised over 20 theses addressing topics ranging from climate crisis implications for social work to gender equality in social institutions.
