Robert Jenkins is a Professor of Political Science at Hunter College and the Graduate Center, CUNY, and holds affiliations with the Ralph Bunche Institute for International Studies and Roosevelt House Public Policy Institute. He specializes in the political economy of India, international development, and post-conflict peacebuilding. His research examines issues like land acquisition in India's Special Economic Zones (SEZs), UN peacebuilding architecture, and gender mainstreaming in conflict zones.
Education: B.A. from Harvard University and D.Phil. from the Institute of Development Studies, University of Sussex (UK). He has held visiting roles at prestigious institutions including the École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales (Paris) and the University of Pennsylvania.
Research focuses on India's democratic experiment, including analyses of SEZs' socio-political impacts, anti-corruption reforms, and employment guarantee schemes.
