Robert Heggie is a Research Fellow at the University of Glasgow's Health Economics & Health Technology Assessment (HEHTA) Research Group within the School of Health & Wellbeing. He holds a PhD in Health Economics and HTA, with over 10 years of experience in analyzing clinical and observational data to inform healthcare decisions. His work spans evidence synthesis, predictive modeling, and clinical pathway analysis across cardiovascular disease, oncology, diabetes, and pre-term labour.
- Educations: MSc in Economics (University of Birmingham), MA in Economics (University of Glasgow)
- Professional Roles: Course Lead for Early HTA and Decision Modelling on the MSc programme, Dissertation Lead, and supervisor for MSc/PhD students.
- Grants: Includes projects on Angina management (British Heart Foundation), AF Screening (Stroke Association), and Surgical vs. Percutaneous Revascularisation (NIHR).
Research Interests: Focuses on integrating implementation science into HTA, cost-effectiveness analysis of medical technologies, and predictive modeling for clinical decision-making. He collaborates with the Scottish Medicines Consortium (SMC) on product evaluations.
Teaching: Contributes to courses on HTA in Global Context, Data Science applications, and Advanced Analysis for Economic Evaluation. Leads CPD courses on maximizing clinical trial data value.
