Robert Gallo

Robert Gallo, MD, is a Professor in the Department of Orthopaedics and Rehabilitation at Penn State University. He specializes in orthopaedic sports medicine, treating athletes across all skill levels and ages. His clinical focus includes ACL/PCL tears, knee ligament injuries, rotator cuff tears, and tennis-related recovery.

Research Interests: Gallo investigates genetic and molecular pathways in anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) and tendon injuries, alongside preventive strategies for tennis-related injuries. Recent Publications (2023-2025): His studies highlight trends in ACL reconstruction outcomes, hormonal influences on patellar instability, and opioid prescription patterns in orthopaedic patients. He explores reoperation risks in complex knee surgeries and athletic performance metrics after injury.
