Research & Professional Background
Mr. Spencer's research focuses on growth and exit strategies for small businesses. Prior to academia, he practiced as an attorney and Certified Public Accountant, representing clients at Ernst and Young before co-founding AdvantageHealth Corporation—a NASDAQ-listed healthcare company with 6,500 employees. He engineered its leveraged buyout, IPO, and eventual merger. Since 1998, he has consulted for small businesses and currently serves on the Board of Directors of Sullivan Investment Company.
