Dr. Robert Doody is an Associate Professor of Anesthesiology at Yale School of Medicine and serves as Vice Clinical Chair and Medical Director of Anesthesiology and Perioperative Services at Bridgeport Hospital - Yale New Haven Health. He completed his DO at University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine (2008), anesthesiology residency at Riverside University Health System (2016), and a fellowship in Anesthesia Critical Care Medicine at UC San Diego (2017). His professional roles include leadership in quality improvement, critical care, and perioperative care.
Dr. Doody’s research interests focus on anesthesiology-related critical care challenges, cardiac anesthesia, and perioperative outcomes. His work addresses complications like right ventricular rupture post-extubation and molecular mechanisms in myocardial hypertrophy. He actively participates in committees such as Surgical Services Quality Committee, Critical Care Committee, and CPR Committee, demonstrating commitment to clinical excellence and patient safety.
His professional memberships include the American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) and Connecticut State Society of Anesthesiologists. He has delivered lectures on topics like difficult airway management and ASA guidelines, reflecting his dedication to advancing clinical practice.
