Robert Desimone

Robert Desimone is the Director of the McGovern Institute for Brain Research and the Doris and Don Berkey Professor in the Department of Brain and Cognitive Sciences at MIT. He previously served as Director of the Intramural Research Program at the National Institutes of Mental Health (NIMH), leading the world's largest mental health research center. His research focuses on neural mechanisms underlying visual attention, working memory, and cognitive control, with a particular emphasis on primate studies. Desimone is a member of the National Academy of Sciences and the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, and has received prestigious awards including the Troland Prize and the Golden Brain Award.
