Robert Cross is an Associate Teaching Professor of History and International Affairs at Northeastern University, affiliated with the College of Social Sciences and Humanities and the Department of History. His research spans Britain, Spain, and early modern Europe, alongside transnational themes in the Atlantic world and empire studies.
- PhD in History from Princeton University (2012)
- Previously taught at Colgate, Loyola Marymount, Tufts, and Vanderbilt University (postdoctoral fellowship, 2012-2014)
- Teaches courses on medieval to modern Europe, political thought, world history, international affairs, and comparative colonialism
His research focuses on Anglo-Spanish relations, regime change, and the politics and culture of peacemaking in the 17th century. He is preparing a book and several articles on these topics, emphasizing transnational frameworks.
He received his PhD in History from Princeton University in 2012. His office is located at 215G Renaissance Park, 360 Huntington Avenue, Boston, MA 02115, with office hours on Thursdays from 1:00-3:00pm and by appointment.
