Robert Creighton

Robert Creighton is an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Product Design Department at Otis College of Art and Design. He is a Principal at Red Cape Studio, specializing in the conceptual development of interactive experiences and educational environments for museums, aquariums, and cultural institutions. With over two decades of experience, he has created exhibits for the California African American Museum, Norton Simon Museum, Natural History Museum of LA County, and Japan House LA, among others.

• BFA in Industrial Design from Rhode Island School of Design (1998)
• Masters in Media Studies from The New School (2005)

Creighton’s work integrates semiotics and sustainability to address complex design challenges. His projects include: Built on Water (water conservation in California), Game Changing (baseball’s trans-Pacific cultural impact), and Black California Dreamin’ (social inclusivity in leisure). He is exploring exhibits on children’s emotional development and urban public space interventions.

His studio, Red Cape Studio, collaborates with clients such as the California African American Museum, The Huntington, and Cedars-Sinai. Creighton’s designs emphasize material research, human-centered approaches, and community engagement.
