Robert Burch is a Research Professor at Queen's University Belfast, affiliated with the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering and the CenTACat (Centre for the Theory and Application of Catalysis). With a career spanning over four decades, he has contributed extensively to heterogeneous catalysis research.

His research focuses on mechanistic investigations in heterogeneous catalysis, gas-phase reactions, and application of novel techniques to study industrial catalysts. He has published nearly 250 peer-reviewed works.
