Robert Beck is an Associate Professor in the Department of Political Science at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. His research focuses on international relations, international law, and foreign policy, with a particular emphasis on legal frameworks for conflict, state sovereignty, and pedagogical innovation. He previously served as Associate Vice Chancellor and Chief Information Officer at UW-Milwaukee.
Education: Beck holds a PhD from Georgetown University and a BA (Honors) from Marquette University. His courses include Global 101 (People and Politics) and PolSci 316 (International Law).
Research highlights include analyses of the Grenada Invasion’s legal implications, the role of international law in ethnic conflicts, and blended online teaching methodologies. He is currently revising the second edition of *International Law and the Use of Force*. His work often bridges legal theory with real-world geopolitical challenges.
Publications span academic journals and edited volumes, addressing topics from historical case studies to contemporary legal debates. Beck’s scholarly contributions emphasize interdisciplinary approaches to understanding international law’s evolving role in global politics.
