Robert Bass

Robert Bass is a Professor in the Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering at Portland State University, where he established and directs the Power Engineering Research Group. His work addresses critical challenges in utility-sector power systems and distributed energy resources.

• Research Focus: DER aggregation, grid cybersecurity, EV charging impacts, and distribution system optimization
• Industry Partnerships: Collaborations with Portland General Electric, Bonneville Power Administration, Pacific Northwest National Labs, and others
