Education:
- Master’s Degree, 1974
- PhD, 1977
- Habilitation, 1983
- Professor Title, 1992
Research Interests: Alicki’s work bridges mathematical rigor and physical phenomena, emphasizing nonequilibrium systems and quantum information. He explores quantum dynamical semigroups, thermodynamic laws in quantum regimes, and foundational debates in quantum mechanics. Collaborations include Springer and Oxford University Press monographs co-authored with K. Lendi and M. Fannes.
Awards & Fellowships:
- Humboldt Fellowship (LMU Munich, 1981–1983)
- Kociuszko Fellowship (University of Florida, 1992–1993)
- Weston Visiting Professorship (Weizmann Institute, 2011–2012)
Visiting Roles: Visiting Professorships at Leuven, Rome II, Udine, Nottingham, Tokyo, and the Perimeter Institute.
