Rob Skinner is an Associate Professor in Modern History at the Department of History, University of Bristol. His research focuses on social and political histories of activism and social movements, with particular emphasis on the anti-apartheid movement, peace, decolonization, and global food system activism. He teaches undergraduate and postgraduate units on South Africa, decolonization, global history, and food activism.

His work adopts a global perspective, centering modern South Africa and Britain, while exploring connections between local and transnational activism. He actively collaborates with activist communities and co-produced research, including projects like Who's in Our Food? and The Life and Death of Food Chickens. His publications include Peace, Decolonization, and the Practice of Solidarity (2023) and A Global History of Anti-Apartheid (2019).
