Rob Lubberink is a Lecturer and researcher at Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences (AUAS), specializing in Urban Economic Innovation. His work focuses on responsible entrepreneurship and innovation addressing grand social-ecological challenges. He holds a PhD in Responsible Innovation from Wageningen University (2018), following degrees in Management and Consumer Studies (2011) and Economics of Consumers and Households (2013).
Research Interests:
- Responsible entrepreneurship and innovation for socio-ecological resilience
- Inclusive business models for climate change adaptation
- Entrepreneurship education incorporating Global South perspectives
- Complex adaptive systems theory applied to international value chains
Recent Work Trends: His publications emphasize systems thinking in food systems, circular economy governance, and navigating tensions in community entrepreneuring. Recent collaborations include organizing workshops on Food Systems Innovation and Urban Upcycling Ecosystems.
Grants & Activities: Participated in 42 activities including organizing the Food Systems Mapping event (2025), leading the National Talent Program for Circular Transition (2021-2022), and contributing to the Dutch Research Council's food security synthesis study (2021).
Labs/Teams: Active in cross-sector partnerships and systems mapping initiatives, particularly within AUAS' Centre for Economic Transformation.
