معرفی
Rob B. Phillips is a Professor at the Division of Physics, Mathematics and Astronomy of California Institute of Technology (Caltech). He holds the Fred and Nancy Morris Professorship in Biophysics, Biology, and Physics. His research focuses on the development of quantitative theoretical models to explain biological phenomena, genome organization, energy flow in biological systems, and viral ecology. He integrates these models with precision experimental measurements.
- Education: B.S. from University of Minnesota (1986), Ph.D. from Washington University (1989)
- Academic Appointments: Clark Millikan Visiting Assistant Professor (1997), Professor (2000-2011), Morris Professor (2012–present)
Research Interests: The lab explores genome regulation, biological energy dynamics, and virus-environment interactions. Graduate students from Biology, Bioengineering, Biochemistry and Molecular Biophysics, Applied Physics, and Physics contribute to these interdisciplinary studies.
Laboratory: He leads the Physical Biology Laboratory, which bridges theoretical modeling with experimental validation to address fundamental biological questions.
