Rishi Gupta, M.D. is an Associate Professor in the Department of Pediatrics, specializing in Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition at the University of Rochester. He joined the University of Rochester in 2018 after serving as an attending physician at Cleveland Clinic and University of Maryland, with clinical expertise spanning pediatric inflammatory bowel diseases, liver disorders, and functional gastrointestinal conditions.
His educational background includes an MBBS from University College of Medical Sciences-Delhi (1998), pediatric residencies at Safdarjung Hospital and Lady Hardinge Medical College in India (2000-2005), Maimonides Medical Center (2006-2008), followed by fellowships in Pediatric Endocrinology at SUNY Brooklyn (2008-2011) and Pediatric Gastroenterology at Mount Sinai Hospital (2011-2013).
Dr. Gupta's research integrates clinical pediatrics with translational investigations in inflammatory bowel disease biomarkers, metabolic liver disorders, and nutritional epidemiology. His multidisciplinary work addresses Rett syndrome, dysautonomia, and autism-related GI disorders through specialized clinics, while emphasizing physician education and community health outreach.
