Riki Takeuchi

Dr. Riki Takeuchi is the Dr. Joseph Picken Distinguished Professor in Innovation and Entrepreneurship at the Naveen Jindal School of Management, University of Texas at Dallas. He specializes in strategic human resource management, organizational behavior, and international human resource management. His research focuses on social exchange relationships, expatriate adjustment, and employee creativity. Takeuchi holds a PhD from the University of Maryland and has held academic roles at institutions like the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.

His education includes a BA in Business Management from North Carolina State University, an MS in Human Resource Management from Purdue University, and a PhD in Human Resource Management from the University of Maryland. He has served as an associate editor for the Academy of Management Journal (2013–2016) and remains an editorial board member for several top journals.

Research interests include understanding expatriates' adjustment processes, strategic employer-employee relationships, and organizational justice. His work has appeared in prestigious journals like the Academy of Management Journal, Journal of Applied Psychology, and Strategic Management Journal. He emphasizes the importance of physical fitness for professional success, holding a third-degree black belt in martial arts.

Recognition includes being named among the top 2% of scientists by Elsevier and Stanford University (2022), and election as a Fellow of the American Psychological Association (2020) and the Association for Psychological Science (2018). He has received multiple teaching awards, including the Best Ten Lecturers' Award at UT Dallas (2008, 2009, 2012, 2016).

Takeuchi’s contributions extend to editorial roles and academic leadership, including coordinating the PhD program in Organizations, Strategy, and International Management.
