Rik Torfs is a Full Professor of Canon Law at the Catholic University of Leuven (KU Leuven) and has served as its Rector since 2013. He is a leading scholar in the interface between Canon Law, Civil Law, and Church-state relationships, with over 300 publications and extensive international engagement across 40+ countries.
