Rick Lagiewski

Rick Lagiewski is an Assistant Professor at Rochester Institute of Technology's Saunders College of Business, specializing in the Department of International Hospitality and Service Innovation. With 25 years of teaching experience, he focuses on hospitality and tourism education through global perspectives.

• Education: BS & MS from RIT, Ph.D. from Edinburgh Napier University

His research explores destination marketing, disaster resilience in lodging, and international tourism collaborations. He has worked with the EastWest Institute on Balkans tourism, studied Croatian lodging privatization through a State Department fellowship, and developed gamified marketing strategies for New York State's Path Through History program.

Recent publication trends examine hotel services during disasters, CSR in disaster relief, and AR/VR applications in tourism. His work with the American Hotel & Lodging Educational Foundation focuses on lodging sector resilience.
