Richard Whincup is a Lecturer in Sport at Hartpury University, affiliated with the Department of Sport. He teaches across multiple programs including Sports Business Management, Equine Business Management, Sports Coaching, and Sports and Exercise Science, focusing on modules such as Introduction to the Sports Industry, Technology in Sport, Marketing Principles, and Professional Placement.
His educational background includes an MSc in Research from Hartpury University (2021), a Postgraduate Certificate in Teaching and Learning from the University of the West of England (2014), a BSc in Sport Science from Brunel University (2002), and a BTEC HND in Sport Science and Health Studies from Solihull College (2000).
Richard's research interests center on sport marketing segmentation, the development of kicking in women's rugby, access to higher education for students from lower socio-economic backgrounds, and inclusivity in higher education.
