Dr Richard Timms is a Research Fellow at the University of Cambridge, affiliated with the Department of Medicine and the Cambridge Institute of Therapeutic Immunology & Infectious Disease (CITIID). His work focuses on developing genetic technologies to identify novel therapeutic targets and understanding the ubiquitin-proteasome system's role in selective protein degradation.
His research interests include:
- Genetic screening in haploid human cells
- E3 ubiquitin ligase-substrate interactions
- Cullin-RING E3 ligase pathways
- CRISPR/Cas9 and next-generation sequencing applications
Scientific Awards:
- Sir Henry Wellcome Postdoctoral Fellowship
Based on the Cambridge Biomedical Campus, his laboratory builds on techniques developed during his PhD with Prof. Paul Lehner and postdoctoral work at Harvard Medical School under Prof. Steve Elledge.
