Richard Song serves as Chair of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering and Professor of Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, and Computer Science at Vanderbilt University. He holds the Chancellor Faculty Fellow distinction and is an affiliate of the Vanderbilt Institute for Surgery and Engineering (VISE).
His research centers on advanced neuroimaging methodologies, particularly functional MRI (fMRI) and diffusion MRI (dMRI), developing computational frameworks for detecting neurological disorders. As director of the Medical-image Analysis and Statistical Interpretation Lab (MASI), he drives innovation in medical image analysis and statistical interpretation techniques.
Dr. Song's scholarly recognition includes:
