Professor Richard Mildren is an ARC Future Fellow in Macquarie University's Department of Physics and Astronomy, leading research in novel photonic sources and diamond laser technologies. He directs the Diamond Laser Group at the MQ Photonics Research Centre.
His career spans plasma kinetics research, ultrafast lasers at Italy's National Research Council, and commercialization of wavelength-switchable medical lasers as R&D lead for a university spin-off. He holds expertise in nonlinear optical phenomena in advanced materials.
