Richard M. Lee is Professor in the Department of Psychology at the College of Liberal Arts, University of Minnesota, with adjunct appointments in the Department of Family Social Science (College of Education and Human Development) and Faculty Affiliate roles at the Center for NeuroBehavioral Development and Institute for Translational Research in Children’s Mental Health.
His research examines culture, ethnicity, and race as determinants of well-being through three core domains: (1) theory/measurement of culture-specific risk factors; (2) transracial adoption experiences of Korean adoptees; (3) community-based prevention programs for minority populations. Key focus areas include ethnic identity development, discrimination, parent-child acculturation conflicts, and cultural socialization.
Major honors include:

- Morse-Alumni Distinguished University Teaching Professor
