Richard Luedeman serves as Assistant Professor of Law at the University of Baltimore School of Law, joining the faculty in 2024. He teaches Introduction to Lawyering Skills and upper-level courses on federal civil rights claims.
His educational background includes:
- J.D. from Yale Law School, where he served on the Yale Law Journal editorial board and participated in the New Haven Legal Assistance housing clinic
- A.B. in government from Harvard University
Luedeman's research centers on civil rights, discrimination, gender and sexuality, civil procedure, and federal court operations. He actively contributes to legal pedagogy through the AALS Section on Legal Writing, Reasoning, and Research while specializing in the intersection of procedure and substantive rights.
He serves on the programming committee for the AALS Section on Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity Issues and has successfully handled pro bono appeals of dismissed civil rights claims in federal court. His professional engagement bridges scholarly work with practical litigation experience.
