Richard L. Wobbekind serves as Associate Dean for Business & Government Relations and Senior Economist at the University of Colorado Boulder's Leeds School of Business, where he also directs the Business Research Division. Joining the faculty in 1985 and serving as Associate Dean since 2000, Wobbekind has established himself as Colorado's premier economic analyst with over 44 years of regional economic expertise.
Wobbekind earned his BA in economics from Bucknell University followed by MA and Ph.D. degrees in Economics from the University of Colorado at Boulder, creating a strong foundation for his lifelong study of regional economic development.
His research focuses on Regional Economic Analysis with specialized expertise in Colorado's economic landscape. Wobbekind develops the annual consensus forecast of the Colorado economy, produces the quarterly Leeds Business Confidence Index, and conducts comprehensive economic impact assessments. His work bridges Macroeconomics, Public Policy, and Managerial Economics to provide actionable insights for business leaders and policymakers across the region.
