Richard Kaye is a Professor in the Department of English at Hunter College and the CUNY Graduate Center’s Ph.D. Program in English. He holds a Ph.D. from Princeton University and has taught at institutions including Davidson College and the New School. His research focuses on Victorian literature, queer theory, and psychoanalysis, with notable works like The Flirt’s Tragedy and editorial projects such as the Broadview Edition of Alan Dale’s A Marriage Below Zero. He serves as editor of the D.H. Lawrence Review and has held administrative roles including Associate Dean of Arts and Sciences at Hunter College.
His scholarly interests span Victorian culture, fin-de-siècle aesthetics, modernism, and World War I literature. He has published widely on authors like Wilde, Lawrence, and the Brontës, with forthcoming work on Oscar Wilde’s The Picture of Dorian Gray. Awards include Mellon Foundation fellowships and affiliations with the American Psychoanalytic Association.
