Dr Richard J Davies is a Lecturer in Project Management Best Practice and Interim Course Director for the MSc. Construction Management (Dubai) at the University of Birmingham's School of Engineering. He transitioned to academia in 2016 from Atkins, a global consultancy firm, where he led the Global Programme Management Steering Group (2011–2015). His roles include overseeing a £27.6M UKCRIC programme and a £750k equipment enhancement programme, acquiring BIM Caves, VR systems, and digital survey tools.
Education: PhD in Material Science (University of Birmingham, 1999), MSc in Material Science (University of Dundee, 1992), BSc (Hons) in Computational Physics (University of York, 1991). Professional certifications include M_o_R (2010), MSP (2008), and Prince2 (2006).
