Richard Holland is a Lecturer in the Department of Physics at Southern Illinois University Carbondale. He received his PhD from SIU Carbondale in 1999 and has been teaching at the university since 1998.
Dr. Holland teaches across the physics curriculum from introductory to graduate levels. His teaching portfolio includes PHYS 101 (Physics that Changed the World and HiFi and Lasers), PHYS 103 (Astronomy), and the core sequences PHYS 203A/B (College Physics) and PHYS 205A/B/C (University Physics). He serves as Lab Coordinator for multiple laboratory courses and teaches advanced topics including Electricity and Magnetism, Optics, Quantum Mechanics, and Nuclear Physics.
As of Summer 2021, he was actively teaching PHYS 205A and PHYS 205B, maintaining office hours, and coordinating laboratory sections. His office is located in Neckers 491 and he can be contacted at hansolo@siu.edu.
