He serves as Associate Director of the Redox Metabolism Shared Resource Facility at the Markey Cancer Center and is a member of the Cancer Research Priority Initiative and Molecular and Cellular Oncology Research Program.
- Education: PhD (1987) and BS (1977) from University of California-Davis and University of Hawaii respectively
- Research: Pioneering stable isotope-resolved metabolomics to study cancer metabolism, metabolic reprogramming, and tumor microenvironment dynamics.
- Grants: 82 active/finalized grants including NCI-funded projects on mitochondrial redox capacity and immunosuppressive tumor microenvironment targeting.
- Collaborations: Key partnerships with Anthony N. Lane on cancer metabolism and Qi Wang on colorectal cancer immunotherapy.
Scientific Impact: Over 13,000 citations, 47 h-index, with 136 research outputs including 110 original articles. Current projects focus on mitochondrial targeting, metabolic checkpoint inhibition, and precision oncology platforms.
