He holds a BSc from King's College London, and MSc and PhD from Imperial College London. His research focuses on biodiversity conservation, phylogenetics, and the integration of high-performance computing into conservation planning. He teaches GIS, biodiversity science, and conservation strategy at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
Academic Background: BSc (KCL), MSc & PhD (Imperial College London). Research emphasizes spatial processes in biodiversity, conservation politics, and evolutionary biology. Previous affiliations include the University of Virginia and Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew.
Research Interests include computational conservation planning, alternative biodiversity metrics, phylogenetic diversity prioritization, and the interplay between conservation science and policy. Recent work explores public engagement via digital platforms like Wikipedia to measure biodiversity interest and inform conservation strategies.
Publications span reptile extinction risk assessment, invertebrate biodiversity metrics, and the effectiveness of conservation policies. His interdisciplinary approach bridges ecology, geography, and computational methods to address global biodiversity challenges.
