Richard G.P. Lopata

Richard G.P. Lopata is a Full Professor at Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e), leading the Photoacoustics & Ultrasound Laboratory Eindhoven (PULS/e) within the Department of Biomedical Engineering. His work focuses on advancing ultrasound and photoacoustic imaging technologies to enhance clinical decision-making in vascular disease, cardiology, and musculoskeletal disorders.

Research Interests: Developing advanced imaging techniques like multiperspective ultrasound strain imaging, photoacoustic plaque vulnerability assessment, and patient-specific biomechanical modeling. His lab aims to replace costly imaging modalities with safe, cost-effective ultrasound and photoacoustic solutions.

• Recipient of ERC Starting Grant (2017), NWO VENI (2011), and VIDI (2019)
