Richard Fay is a Senior Lecturer in Education specializing in TESOL and Intercultural Education at The University of Manchester's Manchester Institute of Education. He holds a PhD in Education, a MusM in Ethnomusicology, and advanced qualifications in TESOL. His career spans over three decades, focusing on embedding intercultural thinking across academic and community contexts. Fay pioneered intercultural education initiatives, including the MA Intercultural Communication program and the Manchester Global Award, while co-founding the klezmer ensemble Michael Kahan Kapelye. His research bridges language education, music pedagogy, and social responsibility, addressing topics like refugee education, multilingual research practices, and intercultural musicking.
