Richard Coico is Professor of Cell Biology and Medicine at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University, where he also serves as Vice Dean for Scientific Affairs and Director of the Clinical and Translational Science Center. His work has since expanded to computational approaches for peptide vaccine development against hemorrhagic viruses like Ebola and Lassa, where his group was the first to identify immunogenic Lassa virus peptides capable of stimulating cytotoxic T cell responses in humanized mice. More recently, he has investigated immunotherapeutic approaches for Alzheimer's disease using beta-amyloid peptides in pre-clinical studies.
