Richard Charles Peter Trembath

Richard Charles Peter Trembath is an Executive Dean and Professor of Medical Genetics at King’s College London's Faculty of Life Sciences & Medicine. He is also an Honorary Consultant in Clinical Genetics at Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust, actively bridging clinical and academic work.

Research Interests include molecular pathways underlying human genetic disorders, pulmonary arterial hypertension, sensorineural hearing loss, lipodystrophy, and population genomics through the East London Genes and Health program. His work spans both rare and common diseases, such as diabetes mellitus and skin inflammation.

Academic Leadership highlights his role as Executive Dean (2015–present), Vice-Principal for Health at Queen Mary University of London (2011–15), and directorship of the NIHR Comprehensive Biomedical Research Centre (2007–11). He has served on boards including the UK BioCentre and the Hefce Catalyst Centre for Precision Medicine.
