Richard Caputo is a Professor at the Wurzweiler School of Social Work, Yeshiva University, with 19 years of service and 40 years of experience in social policy, research, and administration since earning his Master of Social Work. He previously taught at Barry University and the University of Pennsylvania and served as director of research at United Charities of Chicago. His expertise spans social welfare reform, policy analysis, and social justice.

His research focuses on policy analysis, social welfare reform, and social justice, with particular attention to basic income guarantee, financial security for vulnerable populations, and domestic violence policy. His publications highlight trends in global political activism, economic security, and epistemological debates in social work. He has contributed to discussions on welfare reform, tax credits, and intergenerational impacts of social programs.
