Richard Bruggeman is a Professor in Neuropsychiatry of Psychotic Disorders at the Faculty of Medical Sciences, University of Groningen (UMCG). He serves as Director of the Rob Giel Research Centre and works as a Psychiatrist in the Department of Psychosis at University Centre Psychiatry, UMCG. His research focuses on psychotic disorders, schizophrenia, mental health, and financial aspects affecting patients with psychosis.
His recent work explores financial dissatisfaction in psychotic disorders, genetic liability in schizophrenia, mood instability in bipolar disorder, and cost-effectiveness of cognitive behavioral therapy. He supervises MDPhD, Bachelor, and Master’s students in medicine and psychology.
