Richard Bettini is a Lecturer at the School of Continuing & Professional Studies (SCPS) at Pratt Institute, where he has taught CAD software and Robotics for over 35 years. He earned a Bachelor of Architecture (1972) and Master of Architecture (1973) from Pratt. His expertise spans Computer-Aided Design (CAD), 3D Solid Modeling, Robotics, and Architectural Design, with additional contributions to construction methods, rendering, and architectural history.

Bettini has authored the book The Complete CAD Exercise Book, a comprehensive workbook with over 140 CAD projects. His research interests focus on integrating software applications like AutoCAD, Inventor, and Revit into architectural education and robotics programming for competitions. He has also contributed to programming (C++) and Materials and Methods of Construction pedagogy.
Scientific awards include the AIA-NJ Resident of the Year (2017). Notable roles include serving as a Trustee for the Architects League of Northern New Jersey (2005-2015) and as an At-Large Trustee for the State Chapter AIA New Jersey (2021-2022). He has been actively involved in robotics competitions, mentoring teams in events like the VEX Robotics Competition, MATE Underwater Robotics Competition, and MIT Zero Robotics Spheres Challenge.
