Richard Baillargeon is a Professor at the School of Visual Arts, Laval University, Quebec, Canada. He is an anthropologist by training and an accomplished artist whose work bridges photography and textual narrative. His artistic and academic contributions are deeply rooted in contemporary visual arts, with a focus on landscape representation and narrative structures in still images.
His research-creation projects are supported by the Fonds de Recherche du Québec en Sciences sociales et culture (FRQSC). Baillargeon has exhibited widely in Quebec, Canada, and internationally, with works held in public collections. He was instrumental in founding VU, a photography production and dissemination center in Quebec.
