Richard Andalon

Richard Andalon is a Lecturer at UCLA, teaching undergraduate courses in sociology, Chicana/Chicano studies, and education. His research examines sociocultural and psychosocial experiences of students transitioning through educational pipelines, focusing on first-generation, low-income, and immigrant students.

With prior academic appointments at USC and administrative experience in undergraduate/graduate education programs, his work investigates how social environments influence student agency, identity development, and achievement.

Community engagement includes advisory roles with Los Angeles College Promise and United Way Pathways programs. He holds a doctorate from UCLA and professional certificates from Harvard University.
