Richard Schultz is Continental Resources Distinguished Professor and Chair of Energy & Petroleum Engineering at University of North Dakota. A licensed Professional Geologist, his research advances subsurface hydrogen storage, geomechanics, and energy security solutions.
Schultz leads Department of Energy projects on hydrogen storage assessment and coordinates international efforts through IEA Task 42 on Underground Hydrogen Storage. His expertise includes containment integrity, reservoir characterization, and risk management for energy storage facilities.
