Richa Jhaldiyal

Richa Jhaldiyal is a Lecturer in South Asian Languages, Literatures, and History at The Ohio State University. She holds a Ph.D. in Archaeology from Deccan College Post Graduate and Research Institute (Pune, India), along with an M.A. and B.A. in related fields. Her research focuses on prehistoric archaeology in Karnataka's Hunsgi and Baichbal basins, historiography of archaeology in colonial Indian princely states, and Indian prehistory.

Dr. Jhaldiyal has taught courses in Archaeology, Cultural Anthropology, and Biological Anthropology. Her work critically examines the formation processes of South Asian prehistoric records and engages with colonial-era archaeological methodologies.
