Rich Taylor is a Professor in the Department of Chemistry at the University of Notre Dame, with a focus on Organic Chemistry, Drug Discovery, and Rare Diseases. He has held leadership roles including Interim Director of Notre Dame California (2017-2020) and Interim Director of the Warren Family Research Center for Drug Discovery (2014-2017).

Research Interests: His lab develops chemical and biological synthetic technologies to access biologically active natural products, emphasizing therapeutic potential for cancer and rare diseases like Niemann-Pick Type C and NGly1 deficiency. Techniques include chemical methodology development, total synthesis, bacterial fermentation, and heterologous expression.
