His research interests focus on the intersection of sports, culture, and border dynamics, particularly examining Mexico's role in the global baseball industry, the history of baseball in northwestern Mexico, and indigenous resistance during the Porfirian era. His work bridges historical analysis with contemporary border studies, exploring how cultural practices like baseball function across national boundaries.
His publications reveal a consistent scholarly trajectory examining Mexican cultural identity through the lens of sports history and indigenous resistance. The works demonstrate interdisciplinary approaches combining historical research with cultural studies, particularly focused on how baseball became embedded in Mexican identity and how indigenous communities navigated colonial pressures.
