Rich Gentry

Rich Gentry is a Professor of Management and the FNC Founders Chair of Entrepreneurship at the University of Mississippi's School of Business Administration. He serves as Chair of the Department of Management and Co-Director of the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship.

Education:

• Ph.D. in Business Administration, University of Florida (2006)

His research focuses on entrepreneurship, corporate strategy, and CEO turnover. He co-maintains the world's largest open-sourced database of CEO turnover and dismissal, which has been downloaded over 6,000 times. His work has appeared in top journals such as the Academy of Management Journal, Strategic Management Journal, and Journal of Management, and has been featured by the Wall Street Journal and Harvard Business Review.

Gentry has held active service roles in the Academy of Management and Strategic Management Society since 2003. He teaches entrepreneurship, strategy, and entrepreneurial finance to undergraduate and MBA students, and has served as Chair of the Management Department since 2019.
