Dr. Kathleen P. Fuller is the Tom B. Scott Chair and Professor of Finance at the University of Mississippi's School of Business Administration, Department of Finance. Her research focuses on corporate policy decisions, particularly dividend policies and mergers and acquisitions. She holds a Ph.D. in Business from Indiana University-Bloomington (1998), an M.S. in Finance (1996), and a B.S. in Business Administration (1992) from the University of Delaware.
Dr. Fuller has authored numerous articles in top-tier journals such as The Journal of Finance and Review of Financial Studies, exploring topics ranging from tax policy impacts to executive leadership roles in innovation. She serves as Secretary for the Southern Finance Association and has held executive roles within the organization. Her editorial roles include Associate Editor of The Financial Review.
Her research awards include the Outstanding Junior Researcher (2008) and Outstanding Research Paper (2009). She was recognized as Teacher of the Year (2012) by the Business School at the University of Mississippi. Courses taught include Financial Management II (FIN 635) and Dissertation Guidance (FIN 797).
Key research themes include the intersection of corporate governance with market outcomes, the strategic implications of CEO technical expertise, and the evolving dynamics of ETFs in financial markets. She actively engages in policy discussions through her academic governance roles, including contributions to faculty senate meetings and conference organization (e.g., AWC 2016 Vancouver).
