Riccardo Stacchezzini is a Full Professor of Accounting at the Department of Management, University of Verona. He serves as the referent for quality assurance of teaching activities in the Department of Management and president of the related Teaching Commission. Additionally, he coordinates the Master's Degree Course in "Governance and business administration" and participates in the PhD Committee of the interuniversity doctorate in "Accounting and management" at the Universities of Udine and Verona.
His research focuses on accounting, reporting, and accountability tools from a critical-interpretative perspective that integrates technical analysis with organizational and social contexts. His primary research areas include integrated and sustainability reporting, financial and sustainability reporting standards, corporate governance and accountability mechanisms, and accounting history. He publishes in leading international journals such as "Accounting, Auditing and Accountability Journal", "Accounting History", and "Business Strategy and the Environment".
Professor Stacchezzini serves on the Editorial Boards of "Accounting, Auditing & Accountability Journal", "Accounting History" and "Meditari Accountancy Research". He is also actively involved in professional organizations as secretary of the steering committee of the Italian Society of the History of Accounting (SISR), member of the scientific committee of the Italian Business Reporting Organization (OIBR), and member of the Sustainability Standards Committee of the Italian Accounting Body (OIC).
He has coordinated and participated in numerous research projects at local, national, and international levels, including "Data Integration of Survey & Reporting Information" (2024), "The reporting of sustainability and the sustainability of reporting" (2023), and "Rethinking Corporate Reporting as an open platform for pursuing 'Sustainable Success'" (2023).
His teaching portfolio includes Advanced International Accounting, Corporate Groups and Consolidated Financial Statement, Corporate Reporting, Financial Accounting, and The Business Consultant Accountant across various degree programs. At the doctoral level, he teaches Classics in Accounting and Qualitative Research Methods.
