Ricardo Ramírez

Ricardo Ramírez is an Associate Professor of Political Science at the University of Notre Dame, affiliated with the Hesburgh Program in Public Service and the Institute for Latino Studies. His research focuses on political behavior, race and ethnicity, immigrant politics, and state/local governance.

• Education: B.A. from UCLA (cum laude), Ph.D. in Political Science from Stanford University

Research Highlights: He investigates how political context shapes civic participation, Latino immigrant mobilization, and diversity in elected offices. His work includes the National Latino Legislative Database Project (1990-2020), analyzing trends in Latino representation. Recent publications address Latino resistance in the 2016 election, voter mobilization dynamics, and racialized responses to political events.
