Rhonda Dailey is an Associate Professor of Research in the Department of Family Medicine and Public Health Sciences at Wayne State University School of Medicine, with over 20 years of experience specializing in behavioral and health-disparities research. Her expertise centers on minority population recruitment/retention and stakeholder engagement in medical research.
Her research spans community engaged methodologies, perinatal health outcomes, chronic disease disparities, patient health beliefs, and healthcare quality optimization. Dr. Dailey has spearheaded dozens of workshops through the Office of Community Engaged Research on communication strategies and delivered extensive presentations on medical mistrust history and African American research recruitment challenges.
Current NIH-funded initiatives include:
- Co-Associate Director for Community Engagement Core in the Achieve Greater Center grant (PI: Phillip Levy) targeting cardiometabolic disparities and Black-White lifespan inequalities
- Investigator Developing Independent Research Careers supplement for Detroit Young Adult Asthma Project (PI: Karen MacDonell) examining asthma management perceptions
- Site-Principal Investigator for Biosocial Impact on Black Births Study (PI: Carmen Giurgescu) analyzing parental psychosocial factors in birth outcomes
- Clinical coordinator for developmental disability vaccination access grant (PI: Sharon Milberger)
